Americans With No Lobbyists Have Formally Sought Pardons Ahead of Historic July 4th Clemency Announcement

Documented cases, filed through the Office of the Pardon Attorney, ask to be reviewed on the facts — not on access

As President Trump prepares to mark America's 250th birthday with a historic act of clemency, a group of 43 Americans who say they were prosecuted under a weaponized federal justice system have formally submitted their petitions for consideration — without hiring a single lobbyist or paid consultant.

The group, which organized publicly under the hashtag #43Americans, represents nurses, doctors, veterans, business owners, and parents from across the country. Each has filed a documented clemency petition through the proper channel, the Office of the Pardon Attorney, and published their case publicly at 250pardons.com — including petition numbers, court records, and personal accounts.

"We didn't wait to see who made a list before speaking up," said Angelica Pacheco, a member of #43Americans. "We filed the same way everyone else is supposed to. We're asking that our cases be reviewed on their merits, the same as anyone else's."

Recent reporting from The Atlantic and CNN described a "frenzy" of lobbyists and paid brokers competing for spots on the administration's list of 250 pardons. #43Americans says none of its members have access to that kind of representation — and that their cases should be considered regardless.

The group says it will continue advocating publicly for its members' cases, whatever the outcome of Friday's announcement.
